Our Story

The Westford Jr Ghosts Softball organization was founded with a simple mission: to provide young athletes with the opportunity to develop their softball skills while building character, teamwork, and lifelong friendships.

The Ghost Softball program was created five years ago to offer a more competitive softball experience to Westford girls. It operates under WYBSL and competes at the Class C or Class B level. The program is built on three pillars: athletic development, community building, and providing a fun environment to enhance the fast-pitch softball experience for every player.

All of our coaches are experienced parent volunteers with backgrounds in club-level coaching. This gives them a vested interest not only in player development but also in building strong, community-based teams. All practices take place in Westford, and the schedule is designed to accommodate each player’s other commitments. Our athletes are also involved in basketball, lacrosse, dance, band, chorus, and theater. Unlike many club programs—which demand multiple weekly practices and don’t guarantee playing time—our approach allows room for personal growth beyond softball.

Once selected, your player will attend a few fall practices before taking a break until indoor winter sessions begin at Mill Works. Our program provides access to experienced local coaches who help players refine their skills at a high level. Players will participate in recreational or school softball in the spring, followed by 5–8 tournaments during the summer.

For the 2025-2026 season, we will be holding tryouts to form teams at the 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U age levels. All interested players must attend the tryout in order to be considered for a team. Teams will be announced shortly after the tryouts.
